The weight loss industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. It’s hard to watch television, pick up a magazine, turn on the radio or jump on the internet without being exposed to a weight loss message.
We can’t talk weight loss without talking fat burners, which have become a cornerstone product of the weight loss supplement market.
So, should you be using fat burners as part of your weight loss plan?
There is no doubt that many over-the-counter weight loss supplements marketing themselves as the miracle fat burner do raise serious effectiveness and safety questions. That being said, however, any educated responsible weight loss professional agrees on the importance of having a supplemental dietary fat burner as part of your weight loss program.
It’s really a non-negotiable.
Of course, the use of any weight loss supplement like a fat burner must include a well-balanced diet with regular exercise and rest.
It’s important to know the truth about weight loss herbs and fat burning supplements before formulating an effective weight loss plan. Let’s touch on some of that truth now.
First and foremost, before talking about fat burners it’s important to understand your body does require fat. Its purpose is to store calories your body can then convert to energy. Assuming you believe you need energy then you also must accept that you also need fat.
That being said, fat burners do play a role in an effective weight loss program. Here are a few dietary supplements that will rev up your body’s metabolism and encourage the process of fat burning.
Chromium Picolinate
This is a mineral that supports the body’s effective use of carbohydrates. It does this by regulating your insulin and balancing your blood sugar levels. Furthermore, its other benefits include enhancing glucose absorption into your cells, which supports two things: (1) makes the glucose more useful for energy and (2) lowers your blood lipid levels to raise your body’s good cholesterol also known as HDL. Taking 200 mcg of chromium picolinate on a daily basis will help boost your metabolism in a safe and effective way.
Garcinia Cambogia
This is a weight loss herb you’ve probably herd of as it’s gotten a lot of positive press. Garcinia cambogia is a hydroxyl citric acid (HCA). You can find this acid in the rind of the fruit garcinia cambogia hence the name.
The power of this HCA is that it helps inhibit production of fat from carbohydrates. It also helps the body burn your stored fat while giving you a feeling of fullness resulting in appetite suppression.
For maximum effectiveness within a weight loss program take 2,000 to 3,000 mg in divided doses before meals.
L-Carnitine
This is a popular amino acid that resides in some types of poultry and red meat. It’s main purpose is to transport fatty acids across the membrane of your cells into the mitochondria.
The way I like to look at mitochondria is that they are like the factory inside your muscle that burn your fat to produce energy. Additionally it helps speed up the rate fats in your liver are oxidized.
Many people really like this L-Carnitine amino acid because it helps you from feeling fatigued while supporting your cardiovascular system.
Your best L-Carinitine regimen within your weight loss program is to start with 250 mg each day on an empty stomach for the first seven days. You can then up the amount another 250 mg to 500 mg every seven days until you hit 1,000 mg per day.
Lastly, when it comes to L-Carnitine, don’t be alarmed if you notice your sweat starts smelling different after you begin your L-Carnitine regimen. This is good news because it means your body is releasing the wastes that leave your body during the fat burning process.
